The Decemberists- Think About Me (Fleetwood Mac Original)

Always enjoying covers, I went with this one by The Decemberists. It is an older cover that you can get off the album Bridging The Distance. It suits this fresh new morning!

The Veils- Sit Down By The Fire

Slowly dying from the plague or something. In the mean time, I have been listening to The Veils. Regaining my power and energy. Planning on a celebratory hike this weekend, with this band playing in my ear.

Kings of Leon- Pyro

Spending my Saturday night in bed. I don’t listen to Kings of Leon very often. It is refreshing to hear though. They’re incredible artists, and I recommend seeing them live.

Memoryhouse- Bonfire

A personal favorite of mine, this Ontario band brings all the pleasant sounds of ambient/chill wave to life. This song in particular has been a daily necessity for me as of late, like Vitamin C. Hope you enjoy it like I do.

The Beets- You Don’t Want Kids To Be Dead

If you like the mix of garage, punk rock and a dash of indie than this is likely a band for you. Their debut album Spit in the Face of People Who Don’t Want to Be Cool, is a definite reflection of the bands attitude and ideals. The track “You Don’t Want Kids to Be Dead” is off their 2011 album Let The Poison Out. Take a listen!

The Go! Team- Apollo Throwdown

Hope you all had a damn good New Year! I am starting the year off with The Go! Team. Something with some punch seemed necessary. Wish you all the best!

Stricken City- Some Say

Stricken City, made up of Rebekah Raa (vocals), Iain Pettifer (guitar), Espen Dahl (bass), Kit Godfrey (drums), are the quintessential mid-80s indie band. Fortunately, our ears are graced by this “ramshackle”, a description used by many, band in the 21st Century. I chose to go with the  track “Some Say” from the 2011 album Losing Colour, a personal favorite. You need this song in your life, even if you don’t know it yet. You will after 4:07.

Lykke Li- Jerome

Thinking that it may be convenient to do some 2011 favorites, as it is coming to a very quick end. This track is a 2011 favorite of mine. It has such a Fleetwood Mac energy to it, at least that is what I am vibing. Obviously, Lykke Li is no stranger to Wo’Ha Music, or any of you.

Pretty Lights vs. Led Zeppelin

Hearing is believing, at least in this case. Pretty lights put their spin on 7 of Led Zeppelin’s tracks. It is 5 minutes and 50 seconds very well spent.

Avicii- Levels (Skrillex Remix)

As terrified as I am of Skrillex, I kind of enjoy his intensely dubstep remix of “Levels”. It doesn’t beat the original, by any means, but it is a different twists. I’m a lady that enjoys twists.

Com Truise- Helena Beat Remix (Foster The People Original)

I know you are all more than familiar with Foster The People and one of their tracks “Helena Beat”. I must admit that I am ready for new material. So it is nice when I find remixes of their current work. This has an incredible sound, listen to find out!

RJD2- Smoke & Mirrors

Currently listening to “Smoke & Mirrors” in hopes to muffle, if not mute, the obnoxious couples group playing Apples to Apples. There is a time and a place, this is at least not the time, if even the place. I would like to actually be able to enjoy some RJD2 with my coffee.

Benjy Ferree- Pisstopher Chrisstopher

“Drawing as much from the country meandering of Jimmie Rodgers and the passionate blues pounding of Son House as he does from the vocal hysterics of Freddie Mercury and the balladry of Nick Cave, Ferree crafts a sound that is difficult to fit into any one category, but upon listening is as gratifying as it is unique.”

-Paul Vivari via Benjy Ferree Bio

Stumbled acrossed Ferree’s music and was intrigued. I thought this quote by Paul vivari on Ferree’s site said it all.
