The biggest thing to happen to hip hop this year was undeniably Kanye West & Jay-Z’s collaboration album Watch The Thone. Damn difficult to choose a song, but I went with “Otis” as I have a weak spot for anything involving Redding.

I’m giggling to myself, as I was going to post The Black Keys “Gold On Ceiling”, but I see Stephanie was on my same wave length and took care of business. I did find this though, and it changed things. If you like Dan Auerbach and rap, then feast on this.

Today’s Sunday of Synth goes to Nosaj Things. Those of you involved in the Los Angeles rave scene have likely more than familiar with him. Intense Radiohead fans may also know that he created beats for some of Radiohead’s tracks. His sound is comprised of hip hop, electronic and synth beats.

Collaborating with artist Toni Sailor to develop the band in London, England, Maya and the band has brought an eerie and dark taste to the pop world. Jay-Z and Kanye West- No Church In The Wild (ft. Frank Ocean)
I already posted a track from their collaborative album, but I had to come back with another song. I have yet to listen to the entire album, simply because I am not all that interested. However, what I have heard I have surprisingly enjoyed. This track is haunting and creepy, not nearly as peppy as my last post.

One of the most memorable evenings was dancing at Girl Talk (Outside Lands). I didn’t expect much going into it, but I ended up being blown away. So much dancing, so many balloons, so many people on ecstasy and so much fun.

Phantogram vs. Notorious B.I.G.- Kleptomaniac
